August Meeting of Cradley Parish Council
The aerial flyer in the Chapel Lane playingfield is still an active item on our agenda. Arrangements are now in hand to fit the new bearings. Once installed, the flyer will be quality checked and brought back into use as soon as possible
Rainwater drainage has been a matter of concern for some time in the Finchers/ Sandy Lane area of Cradley. In response to an invitation by the Parish Council, Chris Massey of Hereford Council has agreed to attend an open meeting, on site, to explore these issues. This will be on Wednesday 27 August at 4.00 pm. Separate notices will be issued to residents of the area most affected.
Herefordshire Council are making arrangements for a skip to be available, for public use, in Buryfields, on Saturday 20 September between 8.00am and 10.00 am. The skip freighter will be supervised during this time by its driver/operator. Notices will be issued, nearer the time.
Parish Council Accounts .As well as having our own internal audit procedures, Parish Councils are also subject to external audit, and ours is due in September. As part of the preparation, the Chairman presented the accounts for 2002/2003. The Council and the members of the public present, found the format of presentation interesting and easy to follow.
In response to the working party recommendation, the Council agreed in principle that we should have our own Parish Lengthsman. We hope to start the scheme in the new financial year subject to our finding a knowledgeable and public-spirited supervisor and a self- employed lengthsman with the right skills.
The Agenda for Parish Council meetings is displayed at the Butchers, the Post Office and on the notice board at Storridge Village Hall at least 3 clear days before each meeting. Copies of the minutes for the last 2 years are held at Cradley Post Office. Mrs Courtney, Clerk to the Council, can be contacted on 01886 880410
