September Meeting of Cradley Parish Council
Many apologies for the delay in this report but your scribe has been on holiday.
Since the September meeting, it has been confirmed that Mrs Courtney, our Clerk, has resigned. Please see separate notice of appreciation from our Chairman.
A new notice board is now in place at Finchers Corner. All Council notices will be posted here as well as the usual locations. A further notice-board will be put up at the new school site at the time of its opening.
Lane by Pixiefields. Concern had been expressed in a letter from Mrs Munrowd-Beech, that hedgerow growth was making it very difficult for walkers seeking sanctuary from cars. It was agreed that "cutaways" were needed as a long-term solution and this would be followed up with Herefordshire Council
The Annual Return of the parish Council accounts was formally agreed.
Playing Fields. Following advice from Charles Naylor of West Mercia Crime Prevention, it was agreed that a working party, lead by Mrs Berry, would on 13 September, reduce the height of the roadside hedge of the Chapel Lane playing field, to improve visibility into the play areas. It was also agreed that the notice of the Byelaws should be replaced and a similar notice placed by the Buryfields playing field and that the Emergency Services should hold a key to the Chapel Lane playing field.
Power cuts and the generally poor service from Aquila were raised by Mrs Hurle at public question time. It was readily agreed that the Council should write to Aquila, copying the letter to Ofgen and Scottish and Southern Power.
The Agenda for Parish Council meetings is displayed at Finchers Corner, the Butchers, and the Post Office and on the notice board at Storridge Village Hall at least 3 clear days before each meeting. Copies of the minutes for the last 2 years are held at Cradley Post Office. Mr Creed-Newton, Chairman of the Parish Council, can be contacted on 01886 880534
