We want you to know more about your local footpaths. Cradley Parish has in excess of 30 miles of public rights of way. So join one of our circular guided walks direct from Cradley Village Hall. The walks are of different length and appeal. Look at the information on display in the hall, which includes maps of the local footpaths. Listen to our speakers who will be talking of their experiences and on the benefits of walking. Mix and match, as you will. When choosing a walk please ensure that you are confident that you are fit enough, wear suitable clothing for the weather conditions prevailing on the day of the walk, and take with you a drink and some "energy" food. Children are very welcome but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

We want as many people as possible to enjoy these walks, but numbers will be limited. To ensure your place, please arrive promptly and register for your preferred walk.

Walk 1 Lead by Alan Edwards

This circular walk is approximately 4 miles in length, involves a climb of 125meters (410ft) and should take a little under 2 hours to complete

The walk for the most part follows public rights of way and has been specially chosen, as it is suitable for those who are unable to climb stiles. The route will take you through Netherley Farm, past Overley Cottage to Mathon (Lane End), up to Bank Farm via Rose Farm, returning via High Grove Wood and Cockshot Hill.

Walk 2 Lead by Jill Upton

This circular walk is approximately one and a half miles in length and involves a climb of 15 metres (50ft), and should take about half an hour to complete. There are 8 stiles to negotiate.

The route will encompass the current School site and the new taking in Churchfields, Wold Mill and Buryfields (new School) before returning to the Hall.

Walk 3 Lead by Jeff White

This circular walk is approximately 3 miles with gentle climbs and descents through the Herefordshire countryside. It should take about 1 1/2 hours to complete on footpaths and bridle tracks, with several styles.

The route will pass through Lumbridge Wood, Vinesend and Whitman’s Hill Coppice. The return route comes back via Hill House Farm and then on lanes and paths back to the Village Hall.

Our Project is helping to deliver the Parish Plan, and is supported by the Parish Council.

We are aiming to:

This afternoon, we aim to make you more aware of your footpaths and how using them can be of benefit.
