July 2005 Meeting of Cradley Parish Council
Parish Notice Board It is with great regret that the Council has decided to lock its notice board at Finchers Corner following the recent vandalism. However, we will be providing at the same location an additional notice board without glass-fronted doors for general use.
Young People on Cradley kicked off the July meeting, with a presentation by Claire McNally and Zoe Davies. They raised on behalf of their peers the issues of:
They also laid out their plans
We were impressed by their presentation, and very pleased to support their very positive proposals for action. We also heard from members of the Council that progress is being made towards a village Football Team with the Herefordshire FA in support, and that Rosie Berry is organising activities for young teens (11+) at the Scout Hut during the holidays.
It was disappointing that so few members of the public turned up to hear all this but there will be more on these matters in the coming months.
Concern has been expressed recently at the incidence of lorries parking on the verge near Millbank. We have been assured that preventative action is now being taken.
We were delighted to have played our part in the Calor Village of the Year Competition, separate notice.
Planning Update: on 15 July the main Herefordshire Planning Committee approved the demolition of the former school building and construction of 15 houses. There was no debate!
Does no one need any sand in this parish? Jerry Thomas is the keeper of the sandbags; the bags are time expiring but the sand is fine. Please contact him on 880868.
The Agenda for Parish Council meetings is displayed at Finchers Corner, the Butchers, the Post Office and on the notice board at Storridge Village Hall at least 3 clear days before each meeting. Copies of the minutes for the last 2 years are held at Cradley Post Office.
Mrs M Barnett, Clerk to the Council, can be contacted on 01531 635 103.
