LEDBURY TOWN

3rd Oct: A store in Dymock Road was broken into by offender/s who cut a padlock and chain then forced a roller shutter door causing considerable damage. A male using a cash machine in the Homend had the cash snatched from his hand by another male.

3rd/4th Oct: Front and rear number-plates were taken from a vehicle parked on a driveway in Little Marcle Road.

4th Oct: An attempt to steal items from a store in the Homend was thwarted by the manager, but an unknown male escaped with goods worth £329 from a shop in the High Street.

5th Oct: Damage was caused to slabs in St Katherine’s car park. Also a Peugeot 307 parked in Belle Orchard was scratched on drivers side.

5th/6th Oct: A roof and cables were damaged, and a pane of glass broken in Mabels Furlong.

7th/9th Oct: Branches were cut off 3 Silver Birch trees in Longacres.

7th/11th Oct: Damage caused to wing mirror and bonnet of a Nissan Micra in Bye Street car park.

8th/9th Oct: A pane of glass at front of a shop in The Homend was broken, possibly by a brick.

9th/10th Oct: A windscreen wiper was ripped off a Seat Leon parked in New Street.

11th/12th Oct: Handsets in 2 phone kiosks and a nearby noticeboard in High Street were damaged by fire.

12th Oct: The registration plates were stolen from a VW Golf parked in Elgar Close.

13th Oct: Padlocks, chains and a roller shutter were damaged and 12 chainsaws stolen from premises on the Dymock Road.

13th/14th Oct: A wooden fence was damaged at the rear of a property in Browning Road.

13th/17th Oct: Two trees, spotlight cable and a sign were damaged at the recreation ground in Bye Street.

14th Oct: A 37-year-old male was assaulted at a public house in the Homend, suffering cuts and bruises.

17th Oct: A large amount of power tools, lawn mowers, spanners and other DIY items were taken from an outbuilding in Hereford Road. Entry was gained by cutting the padlocks from the doors; some of the items taken were also chained down.

18th Oct: Damage was caused to a perspex roof after by a youth throwing a trainer.

19th Oct: A child’s ride-on Vespa scooter was stolen from a shop in Bank /Crescent. An action set and a remote-controlled car were stolen and later recovered from a shop in the Homend.

19th/20th Oct: A builders merchants’ on the Lower Road Trading Estate was broken into and a large quantity of copper tubing and lead flashing was taken. On the New Mills Trading Estate a welding company was also broken into and a steel guilotene blade was stolen.

20th Oct: unauthorised withdrawal of cash from a bank in The Homend.

21st/22nd: A Kynco Zing motorcycle parked in Masefield Close was damaged when pushed over.

22nd/29th Oct: The Cricket Club Pavilion in New Street was broken into. Slight damage was caused inside.

23rd Oct: An Audi parked in the Lower Road Trading Estate was badly scratched, and hair products were stolen from a shop in the High Street.

23rd/24th Oct: Newly laid concrete in Biddulph Way was badly damaged with graffiti and foot prints.

24th Oct: A fence was reported damaged in several incidents over the last month at a property in Oatleys Road. Also, bricks/stones were thrown at vehicles on the A438 from the Railway Bridge.

On same day Somerfield stores door was damaged when kicked.

25th Oct: Vauxhall Vectra parked in Katherine’s Walk was damaged.

25th/26th Oct: A Vauxhall Vectra car parked in Yeoman’s Close was damaged and TomTom Sat Nav stolen. At the Leasowes a Toyota was damaged and registration booklet and a Voyager laptop stolen. Also in the Leaowes a Ford Focus was damaged and gear knob stolen, and money was stolen from a wallet in another Ford Focus.

27th Oct: A window was broken at an estate agents in New Street, and a vehicle windscreen was broken when a stone was thrown through it whilst travelling along the Hereford Road.

27th/28th Oct: An entry control box was stolen from the wall outside St Katherine’s Almshouses.

27th/29th Oct: A BMX Mongoose pedal cycle was stolen from the front garden of a property in Barnett Avenue.

28th Oct: A greenhouse and a shed roof were damaged when stones were thrown at a property in Northmead.

29th Oct: The front was blown off a Royal Mail post-box on the Leddington road. A 49-year-old male was injured during an assault in Barnetts Close.

30th Oct: A pane of glass was broken at St Katherine’s when missiles were thrown at the windows. A youth was arrested at near the scene.

VILLAGE NEWS

Colwall

18th Oct: A silver Peugeot 206 parked in Jubilee Drive was broken into and a handbag and contents stolen from the glove compartment.

21st Oct: Also in Jubilee Drive, a window was forced in a Ford Focus, again a handbag and contents were taken, and tow other cars, a Rover 114 and a Kia Sorento, were damaged at the same location on 28th Oct.

Cradley

13th/20th Oct: Copper earthing was stolen from a telephone mast at Ridgeway Cross.

Eastnor

27th/30th Oct: Tools, spotlights and a seat cover were stolen from a timber harvester at a property in the village.

Eggleton

23rd Oct: copper strips were stolen and slates and guttering damaged when premises were entered at Lower Eggleton.

Putley

23rd/24th Oct: A red Volkswagen van parked in a drive was broken into. A side window was smashed and a CD player stolen from within the vehicle.

ARRESTS

2nd Oct: A 52-year-old male was arrested in connection with offences against another. He was later released on Police bail.

5th Oct: A 29-year-old male from West Midlands was arrested in Ledbury on suspicion of theft.

11th Oct: 2 - 36 year-old Ledbury males were arrested and bailed on suspicion of obtaining property by deception.

12th Oct: a 23-year-old Ledbury female was arrested in Hereford for failing to attend court.

16th Oct: A 50-year-old male was arrested and held in custody on drink/driving charges.

17th Oct: A 30-year-old male was arrested on a warrant after failing to answer bail, and a 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

19th Oct: A 19-year-old female from Hanley Swan was arrested in Ledbury in connection with theft from a Homend store. She will appear in court later this month.

21st Oct: A 22-year-old male from Putley was arrested on suspicion of drink/driving, and a 33-year-old Colwall male was arrested in Hereford for public order offences.

29th Oct: A 43-year-old male from Putley was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill, and a 57-year-old male was arrested in Ledbury after failing to provide a breath test.

30th Oct: A 41-year-old male was arrested at Cradley after a motor vehicle was damaged, and a 17-year-old male was held in custody on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

31st Oct: A 16-year-old male was arrested and released on Police bail on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

The front counter at Ledbury Police Station operates surgery hours as follows :-

Monday to Sunday 9am to 1pm

Tuesday and Friday 4pm to 7pm

Monday, Wednesday &

Thursday 4pm to 8pm

BUT, the counter will remain open during the afternoons except during sickness or holiday periods.

The counter is closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. All other public Holidays the counter will open 9am to 1pm
