Cradley and Storridge Parish Plan
We had our second "Planning for real"(R) at Storridge on Saturday 25 May for those who were not able to come to the earlier event. The attached photo shows organisers of the event explaining "Planning for Real"(R)to our MP, Bill Wiggin and outlining some of the issues being raised by the community in Storridge.
The ideas and concerns will now go forward to the Priorities Exercise which is being held as a precursor event to the Jubilee Celebrations on Monday 3 June in the Old Rectory Gardens at 11.00 am

Storridge was the focus for the Parish 'Planning for Real' first event, held in the Village Hall on Wednesday 10 April from 11am to 3 pm. The survey results are as follows...

Cradley and Storridge Parish Council have given the go ahead for the development of a Parish Plan. Parish Plans have sprung from the Government’s Rural White Paper and aim to strengthen the role of Parish Councils, provide evidence of real needs within the community and help to influence decisions made on our behalf at local, county and national level.
The Plan itself will be developed under the chairmanship of Mike Vockins and will take on board all the work done to date for the Village Design Statement (VDS.). As we are a pilot parish in Herefordshire, the Herefordshire Partnership and the charity Community First will help us in our task.
On 7 March there was a very successful meeting between the 3 workshops that were set up last September to progress the VDS and representatives of Herefordshire Planning Department. At that meeting it was confirmed the VDS. will have legal status as a supplement to the main Herefordshire Development Plan.
In April we aim raise parish awareness and to seek out the issues that really matter at a local level. Initially this will be done through a series of events, at various locations, called "Planning for the Future". At these events everyone will also have an opportunity to comment on the draft recommendations for future development in the village produced by the 3 Village Design Statement workshops
Planning for the Future Events
A series of events will take place at various locations across the Parish. These events will focus on the future for the people who live and in some cases work in the villages of Cradley and Storridge and the various hamlets that make up our large parish. We shall be using a technique recommended by Community First that allows for a large number of people of all ages to be involved. Using a 3D model of the parish, photographs and colour coded idea cards we shall be prompting everyone to say what they think is good about the parish, and also what they need now and in the future to make it even better. (For more information on the techniques see http://www.nif.co.uk/)
They will be drop in events so in as little as half an hour anyone can have their say using the cards provided. We would like people to stay longer and talk to some of the invited community representatives: these will include representatives from the Council, the Police, and Herefordshire Planning Department as well as members of the Village Design Statement Workshops.
Storridge will be the focus for our first event, to be held in the Village Hall on Wednesday 10 April from 11am to 3 pm. Other events will follow in May in locations to include the School, Cradley Village Hall and the Leys
Creating the Plan
After each event there will be a process to decide the priorities for action and who will take the action. Everyone attending the "Planning for the Future Events" will be asked if they want to be involved in deciding the priorities. It is expected that some issues will be tackled by local interested people armed with nothing but their expertise and their enthusiasm. Other issues will need outside help and some, outside funding. These too will be progressed under the umbrella of the Parish Council.
Regular Updates
Updates on each events will be featured on this site and also in the Village Newsletter.
