Dear Mr Woodward,

You will be aware that we have mounted a campaign to save (reopen) the Crown Inn as our village pub. You may have read in the Village Newsletter earlier this year that interest in the Crown was also expressed at the "Planning for Real"® conducted for the Parish Plan so the degree of support, which is splendid, should not come as a surprise.

In terms of support to date: More than 90 people turned up to our Open Meeting, so far more than 150 letters had been written to Mr Bishop, the Planning Officer, and over 300 people have signed our petition. We have had media coverage in the Malvern Gazette, Radio Hereford and Worcester, Worcester Evening News and the Hereford Times. CAMRA which are as professional as one can get on the subject of village pubs are giving us expert advice.

This degree of support we feel you should see as being a reflection of a lively local village pub market. Cradley is one of the largest villages in Herefordshire, it is also one of the most affluent. When coupled with the support level shown recently, the local market aspect of your business plan should be pretty sound.

We want to work with you towards the successful reopening of the Crown Inn. You may not feel ultimately, that running a village pub is what you wish to do. If this is the case, we feel along with CAMRA, that we can help you.

We would be grateful if you would agree to meet with us to discuss the whole matter and hopefully find a solution that satisfies all of us.

I would welcome an early response to this letter.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Sally Ramsden

Cradley Crown Crusaders
