CRADLEY WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

The modern Womens Institute was began by a man. The Hon. R. Stapleton-Cotton, in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwymdrobwilllantysiliogogogoch in 1915. His aim was to make women in the rural community aware of their skills and potentials in war-time.

From this beginning we have today's nationwide organization, which is consulted by the government on subjects relating to women and the family, and is capable of 'hand-bagging' the Prime Minister.

So forget the jams, cakes and nude calendars, just join us at Cradley and make your voice heard too, and at the same time enjoy lively talks, conversations, trips and activities, as well as having fun making new friends at our interesting and informative meetings,

We meet at 7.30 p.m. on the first Thursday in the month at Cradley Village Hall.

Look at the events notice board on the home page of this site for the meeting calendar.

We would be delighted to welcome you to our meeting. For further information about our WI, please ring HFWI House on 01432 272268 and they will be pleased to give you our present secretary's telephone number. The alternative is to just turn up on the night where you will be assured of a warm welcome. For current meeting details see Cradley Diary or the Newsletter.
